Gameplay Marathon Fundraiser Starts Friday at 5 PM PT
Watch live video from bayareafightnight on www.twitch.tv All games are played on original hardware.
Tell your friends, spread the link far and wide; the MADE will be defeating 1 game for every $1,000 donated between Friday, April 27 at 5 PM PT until Saturday, April 28, 5 PM PT. Right now, we have raised enough to support the defeat of 4 games. We need to get a heck of a lot more money in just to necessitate us playing until Saturday afternoon! As it stands, we are planning to take on some longer games up front, to give the Internet time to figure out we're doing this.
The first game on the schedule is Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for Super Nintendo, starting at 5 PM PT. Chris Wolf, our currator, will be playing it on the stream. After he's done, I will come in to beat Super Metroid. I expect to take 3 hours. When I'm done, Manny takes the overnight shift with Paper Mario on N64. Sean is scheduled to take on Streets of Rage 1 2 and 3 on Dreamcast, as soon as Manny finishes, say about 5 AM, Saturday morning. Sean is very talkative, so his playthroughs should be epic. When he's done, Chris Barylick will tackle Ocarinna of Time, and then Resident Evil 2, both on N64.
That's 8 games which we think we can defeat before 5 PM PT tomorrow. That expects we can at least double our thus-raised funds, and we'll be playing through until the 24-hours are up, no matter what.
However! If the Internet can raise the dough, we will play and defeat games non-stop until we have defeated 1 game per $1,000 raised. We have some surprises stored up if you can raise enough to push our playthroughs into Sunday. Jason is raring to go on his lengthy list of NES titles, including Contra, Kid Ikarus, Deadly Towers, Ninja Gaiden 2, and bunch more he's planning to defeat. But Jason doesn't even enter the playthrough efforts unless we've raised the money to keep us playing to Sunday morning.
Again, all of these games will be played on original hardware. There will be slight pauses between games as we hook things up, and we'll go to the live camera for those periods. The stream will be located at our Twitch TV page. You can donate on this page, or on our Fundraising page, where we're keeping track of the funds raised.
