What if you didn't have to start a game from a blank screen?

Microgame Brain Trust is a 90-minute experimental workshop where you'll learn to make tiny games by mutating an existing one instead of building from scratch.

Everyone begins with the same PICO-8 microgame template.

Together we'll dissect its systems, rewrite its rules, swap mechanics, pass projects around the room by USB, and discover how quickly a simple game can evolve into something completely unexpected.

We'll exchange digital fluids.

We'll indulge our most perverse ludic desires.

We'll make games that should probably be deleted.

No programming experience is required. Beginners and experienced developers are equally welcome.

You'll learn to:

• Navigate the basics of PICO-8

• Modify gameplay instead of starting from zero

• Think in systems, constraints, and rapid iteration

• Remix and collaborate through playful mutation

• Leave with a finished microgame that's unmistakably yours (and maybe a little bit someone else's)

After the instructional portion, the space stays open for coworking, playtesting, collaboration, and continued experimentation.
