Join Dr. Bo Ruberg, author and professor at UC Irvine, in a discussion of their new book!

Professor Ruberg is a prolific academic in video game academia and has published many books in the digital media sphere, including Video Games Have Always Been Queer (2019) and The Queer Games Avant-Garde: How LGBTQ Game Makers Are Reimagining the Medium of Video Games (2020), as well as numerous other publications. Their MADE roundtable will host a conversation between industry professionals with a focus on queer worldbuilding beyond simple representation, and explore what it means to build a queer world from the ground up, forging not just queer characters, but also incorporating new and subverted expectations in gameplay mechanics, UI, and much more.
